App Description

We designed our Virtual Economy app to be an informative one with a mini quiz based on the results we retrieved from our survey.  It was difficult to think of an interesting and fun way of developing an app on our topic because we’re not advanced enough to actually create a virtual economy.  However, we started thinking about the kinds of activities we spend our spare time on and came up with the idea for a quiz.  We all probably take little quizzes when we’re bored or just want a random break from life, so we thought it was a fairly entertaining way to address our topic.  The quiz we developed introduces and defines Virtual Economy and then gets a user to think about what goes on in a Virtual Economy. It also allows those who may not be partakers of virtual reality games to see how some of their peers may use games as another reality with, to them, as much value as the actual world we live in.

Firstly, we introduced the definition of Virtual Economy for those who may not really know what it means and then users can simply hit the Next button to begin the quiz.  The quiz consists of four questions that relate to our survey and the results that we got from it. It isn't really meant to gauge the knowledge of its takers because we don’t really expect them to know what our results were, but it is more to gauge how much our peers may know about the topic. But, the main goal of the app is to introduce the concept of Virtual Economy and  get our peers thinking about how behavior in the game world could affect the actual economy like selling gold for real money or buying gears with money.  Basically, a quiz is an easy yet fun way to promote our topic.

An example of one of our questions, the correct answer, and correct popping up to tell the user they got the correct answer; this was done on the emulator.
